Wisconsin assistant involved in fatal crash suffers cardiac arrest

Wisconsin assistant basketball coach Howard Moore, who was in a car accident that claimed the life of his wife and daughter in May, recently suffered cardiac arrest and will not coach this season.According to a statement from the family issued through the school, Moore “experienced a medical issue at his Madison area home that required ambulatory transportation to a local hospital. During the transportation to the hospital, Howard underwent cardiac arrest and has been receiving care by the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital.”Howard will now be moving to a long-term care and rehabilitation facility to continue the focus on his recovery and health. He will not coach during the upcoming 2019-20 season.”Moore and his teenage son were injured in a three-car crash just after 2 a.m. on May 25 near Ann Arbor, Mich. He was released from University of Michigan Hospital on June 8, more than a week after his son was discharged.
